CareCove (“CareCove,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), provided by Christopher Sotomayor / CareCove, helps families coordinate care for a loved one. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. By creating an account or using CareCove, you agree to this Privacy Policy.
CareCove is a coordination and record-keeping tool. It is not a medical device and does not provide medical advice.
Account information. Your name and email address (via email sign-up or Sign in with Apple). With Sign in with Apple, Apple may share a real or private “relay” email and the name you choose to share on first sign-in.
Care information you and your circle enter, which may include:
Collected automatically. A push notification token and basic device information to deliver notifications you enable, plus limited technical/log data to operate and secure the service.
We do not use third-party advertising, analytics, or tracking SDKs in the app.
We process information to perform our contract with you, based on your consent (e.g., notifications and optional health entries), and for our legitimate interest in operating and securing the service.
With your Care Circle. Information added to a circle is visible to the other members you or an admin invite. Circles are invite-only and access is enforced at the database level (row-level security). Data is never shared across circles.
With service providers (subprocessors):
We do not sell your personal information or share it with advertisers or data brokers. We may disclose information if required by law or to protect our users and others, and in a business transfer such as a merger or acquisition.
Some information you enter (medications, dose logs, health observations) is health-related and provided voluntarily to coordinate care. CareCove is a consumer tool and is not a HIPAA-covered entity or a provider of medical services. We treat this information as sensitive and restrict access to your Care Circle. Only add information about another person if you have the right to do so.
Your data is stored with our backend provider in the region selected for the project, protected by measures including encryption in transit (HTTPS), row-level security that limits each user to their own circles, private file storage with time-limited access links, and secure handling of authentication tokens. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we use industry-standard safeguards.
We keep information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service. Deleting content removes it from our active systems. When you delete your account, we delete or de-identify your personal information except where retention is required for legal obligations.
Depending on where you live (e.g., under GDPR or CCPA/CPRA), you may have rights to access, correct, delete, export, object to or restrict processing, and withdraw consent. You can edit or delete most information directly in the app. To request account deletion or exercise a right, email carecovefamily@gmail.com. You can turn notifications on or off in your device settings at any time.
CareCove is intended for adults coordinating care and is not directed to children under 13 (16 in the European Economic Area). We do not knowingly collect information from children; contact us if you believe a child has provided us information and we will delete it.
Your information may be stored and processed in a country other than where you live, including the United States. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for such transfers.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time and will post the updated version with a new “Last updated” date.
